Collecting stones on the coast of Shizuoka Prefecture before visiting a sacred place | Memories No. 32 |

Stone picking trip|Kawazuhama Beach, Shizuoka Prefecture

November 27, 2016.
Yesterday I finished picking up rocks in the Tama River, and today I’m headed to Shobuzawa Beach in Higashi Izu on my way back from Tokyo. Now that I think about it, I started collecting stones in August 2015 and went to various beaches. Of all of them, the coast I regret the most is the Shobuzawa coast.
For some reason, this beach is known as the sacred place for stone collecting, and I recklessly ventured out to collect stones not long after. The result was a disastrous defeat. I came back after being baptized in Ayamezawa. Even when I visited for the second time, I was not able to pick up any stones to my satisfaction.

The sea of Izu seen from the train window. When I head to Shobuzawa, I feel more excited than the usual stone picking. Maybe you’ll be able to pick up some miraculous stones. Now that we are suffering from the Aomori Stone Syndrome, our only recourse is the Ayamezawa Beach.

arrived. This is not Shobuzawa Beach. Kawazuhama Beach is close to Kawazu Station.
I had been curious about it the last time I came to Kawazu and the time before that, but I just ignored it because I wanted to go to Ayamezawa Beach as soon as possible.
This is my third time so I have some peace of mind. First, I decided to pick up some rocks at Kawazuhama Beach for an appetizer. It’s a shame that there are no other photos of the coast. This is a disqualification as a stone record. Tracing memories, tracing memories…

Stone rolling,
Colo colo colo~
Colo colo coron.

Yes, it was a beach like a parking lot. I feel like it’s only been described as a parking lot lately. I’m afraid the other stone people and locals will get angry. To Mr. Watanabe, who loved all stones. If you truly love stones, you won’t even be able to say the word parking. With that in mind, I stubbornly picked it up.

Rolling around.
Colo colo coron.

Stones picked up at sea|Kawazuhama Beach, Shizuoka Prefecture

I found this stone.
A single stone stands out on the generally gray parking lot beach. Actually, this stone is my favorite now.
It’s hard to tell from the photo, but it’s silky and smooth to the touch, and its shape, size, and color are just like almonds. After I brought it home, I became more and more fascinated by it.

Of all the stones I picked up, there were two. The stone on the right is unnecessary. I don’t remember why I picked it up, but I guess I picked it up as a souvenir.
→Various stones I have picked up so far
I was planning to continue on to Ayamezawa, but I’ll continue on next time.
