Picking up stones to find jade on the coast of Niigata Prefecture | Memories No. 3 |

Stone picking trip|Itoigawa coast, Niigata prefecture

September 21, 2015.
The first trip to the stone was a failure, and the second time, he was baptized as a stone picker at a stone sacred place, and he was already on the verge of giving up. Ah, this is what picking up stones is like…

However, as I wrote last time, the company’s designer E shows off Omaezaki’s cool and cool stones. Hmm, but I guess it’s too bad to go to Omaezaki. .

I bought a book that introduces stone picking spots and stones that can be picked up all over Japan.
・Japanese stone specimen box
・Pick up some nice stones
As I read through it, I thought about the stones… (I will introduce it somewhere else)

Today was the day I had promised to go on a trip with designers K and S from Tokyo.
From the day before, I had been thinking of doing a semi-compulsory stone-picking tour.
There are a lot of spots where you can pick up stones that are near clean beaches, so you don’t get too many unpleasant looks. Shimeshime.

If you search in a stone book for a beach where you can pick up stones within a reasonable distance from Tokyo…
Aomori is far away. Fukui is far away. I’ve been to Shizuoka and Izu, and I don’t feel like going to Omaezaki. Another sea where you can collect stones is Niigata.
Niigata! !
And the stones you can pick up are… Jade!
Jade! ? I’m embarrassed to say I’ve heard of it, but I had no idea what jade was.
So, I asked the company’s designer E.

Why, like agate, it’s a little different from just a stone, and has some value. The basic color is green.
I see,,. Horribly shallow information.

Doesn’t it look interesting? In order to make up for their previous failures, they decided on the Itoigawa coast in Niigata, commonly known as the Jade coast.

On the day.
Designer S has an unexpectedly high fever. Is there such a thing? I’m a little worried about suddenly traveling alone.
Shall I take the train anyway?
There is only one bullet train from Tokyo Station to Itoigawa Station. surprised. I thought that Itoigawa Station was somewhat rural, but the Shinkansen stopped there!

Arrived at Itoigawa Coast aka Jade Coast. Good work day. It’s already dusk.

I took a quick look at the sea, walked to the guest house, dropped off my luggage, asked about dinner time, and headed straight to the beach.

Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da! ! ! !

I have to hurry! I have to hurry! When it gets dark, the stones become completely unrecognizable. Pick it up! Pick it up! Just pick up any stones that interest you!
,,,.

Aw,,.
I wonder why…
There are a lot of nice-looking stones lying around.
It’s basically round and about the size you can hold it in your hand. I picked up a lot in a fairly short amount of time.

In the blink of an eye, the sky turned orange. The stones are almost unrecognizable.
But what a beautiful sunset. This area is said to be the coast with the most beautiful sunset in Japan. Is there such a thing as the best sunset in Japan? That’s what I thought, but after seeing this I’m convinced.

Stones wet by the sea begin to shine. Sparkling sparkling~

Sparkling, sparkling, sparkling.

Just getting wet with water sends the rock picker into very hard mode, but the orange glow makes it impossible to do anything. Well, I’ll pick it up just in case.

I was patiently picking up stones in the dark, but now I can’t do it anymore. Completely sunset.
Even so, it was a beautiful sunset.

Stones picked up at sea|Itoigawa coast, Niigata prefecture

After eating dinner of fresh fish, I went back to my room and threw the stones in a row.
It’s like it’s just a stone, giving off the most stone-like feeling I’ve ever seen. By the way, what about jade?
→Various stones I have picked up so far

In fact, those foolish people who went to pick up stones without really researching what jade is like.
Actually, I wasn’t really interested in jade or anything like that.
No, I was kind of expecting it.
I thought there might be sparkling green jewel-like stones lying on the shore.

After looking into it carefully (with a quick Google), it seems that jade is basically white in color. . *You’re already misguided there.
Apparently, the inside is a beautiful green color. But you won’t know until you crack it open. At first glance, it looks like just a white stone. It seems that the impression it has is more important than its appearance. Hey.
Well, tomorrow I’m going to another coast, so I decided to go to bed with low hopes of finding some jade next time. good night.

Next time Memories #4: Asahi Town, Toyama Prefecture is another jade coast! ? What do you mean?
