A trip to pick up stones, along the coast of Toyama Prefecture | Memories No. 10 |

Stone picking trip|Kurobe coast, Toyama prefecture

Continuation from last time.

We immediately arrived at the sea.
It’s already getting dark.

The sunlight shining through the gaps in the clouds is so beautiful. It’s called Angel Ladder.
I like stones, and I like nuts, but I also really like these and take pictures of them.

I don’t have much time, so I’ll pick it up right away.

This coast has incredibly strong waves. The waves hit the tetrapod with a loud thud. I picked up the stones nervously, wondering if one day that wave would hit me.

It was raining a little, and the stones were wet. It’s time to enter very hard mode.
But I wonder how many times I’ve been picking up stones. I can’t help but imagine how dry this is.

Stones picked up from the sea|Kurobe coast, Toyama prefecture

Here are the stones I picked up.
I couldn’t imagine it being completely dry.

The color changes more than expected.
There’s no point in being depressed. I decided to pick one out of these and take it home.

That’s it here.
No, it’s really difficult to pick up wet stones.

Closer cut.

This concludes today’s stone picking.

We decided to eat some delicious food from Fukui and stay the night at the TADA family.
While I was relaxing at TADA’s house after washing the stones, my wife came home from work on Saturdays and Sundays.
Welcome, home. A stone person is bothering you.

After the meal, while drinking TADA and some alcohol, I was admiringly looking at the stones, when my wife said something to me.
“You really like stones, don’t you?”

I felt really embarrassed. A member of the public was able to see me admiring the stone. . .
However, she is the wife of the stone person TADA. I wouldn’t say it’s normal.

yeah?
TADA brought something.

Stones found in the sea|TADA’s stone collection

This seems to be a collection of stones that I picked up from Ojima, where I picked up stones for the first time, until yesterday.

The stones are sorted by date and the location where they were picked is clearly marked.
Hey hey hey. Please wait. How many times have you been picking up rocks in less than a month? How far are you willing to go, TADA?

And then TADA’s selection stone show begins. I can’t stop.

Exquisitely soft form, slightly floating streamline pattern. Beautiful deep brown color.

The layers that overlap like a mille-feuille are indescribably beautiful.

This is called agate. It was my first time seeing the real thing.
I fall in love with the tortoiseshell color that appears behind the undulating white pattern.

This is also agate.

A gentle color that resembles hardened sweet honey. Its surface, which looks like it has been dusted with powdered sugar, makes you want to touch it.

Agate again. Is it harassment?
There’s no need to explain something like this, it’s definitely good.
Actually, there are a lot of agates in Fukui!
Why didn’t TADA take me to that beach today?

What is this?
It’s shaped like the head of a Stegosaurus. The texture is matte and the touch is smooth. It’s indescribably beautiful, a dark gray color with a hint of blur.

Oh, this is really disgusting. It completely exceeds my stone collection.
Stone’s fighting spirit flares up.

But it seems that TADA will take me to the beach where I can pick up these stones tomorrow.
This is Hamachi Beach, which I received in a message the other day.
Well, if that’s the case, hurry up!

I felt kind of relieved.
Afterwards, we enjoyed drinking while talking about stones and the baby in my wife’s womb.

Thank you TADA.

see you tomorrow. good night.

Continuing on to the next episode, Memories 11 and 12 are going with TADA to pick up rocks from the sea and rivers of Fukui, a hidden sacred place!
