Picking up stones at Shizuoka Prefecture, the sacred place for stones | Memories No. 2 |
A trip to pick up stones | Shobuzawa Coast, Shizuoka Prefecture
August 29, 2015.
Kushimoto’s stone picking ended in failure.
Ever since that day, I’ve been working on a plan that I can’t fail next time.
Actually, it would be better to look for the coast by car, but there are various things that can’t be used, so I was looking for a stone spot that could be reached by train.
One day, a designer from Shizuoka said, “It seems that there is a sacred place for picking up stones on the Izu Peninsula.”
A sacred place for picking up stones? Is there such a thing?
Well, it’s better than going aimlessly. Even if it’s a lie, the mere fact that the destination is a stone sacred place will raise the tension.
So, I decided to go to Atami first, then board a mysterious train called Kurofune and head south through Higashi-Izu.
Goodbye Atami.
It’s nice to travel by train. Depart for Kawazu Station.
Gatangotongatangoton.
Gatangotongatangoton.
I arrived at Kawazu station in about an hour. The sea is just a short walk from the station. There are stones too!
But this is not Shobuzawa Beach. The falling stones are also zafutsunoishi. It can’t be a sacred place like this.
A town surrounded by nature. It seems to be famous for early-blooming cherry blossoms called Kawazu-zakura from February to March. Well, in my case, dumplings are better than flowers, and stones are better than dumplings.
Working as a designer in an office in the city can make you feel physically and mentally exhausted without realizing it. I feel at ease when I look at the sea and trees.
Tanuki in front of the house. I like this kind of hometown feeling.
A ship in the distance.
・・・You will notice that there is quite a distance when you walk to Shobusawa Beach. Moreover, it goes up hills all the time.
Through the gaps in the trees, I could see the coast below. But I can’t get off.
The tree bears a mysterious fruit. I like fruits next to stones.
The green became darker, and I began to feel that I was approaching the holy land.
I went back and forth to find out where I should get off to the sea, and apparently I found a sign pointing to the beach, and after walking up a narrow, steep slope that separated from the road, I finally reached the beach.
Stone, stone, stone…
Yes. The colorful stones glisten in the water.
Let’s pick it up!
I started picking up stones diligently.
keep it up~. Gologna. I also saw a cat. They are a little thin because there is no one to feed them.
Good, good, good, but…
I can’t pick up a stone like this at all.
Why! why! There are so many wonderful stones.
The shape doesn’t fit well, and the color is different when it dries. The rocks look attractive when viewed from the coast as a whole, but when you hold them in your hand and look at them individually, something is different.
I’ll find out later when I pick up stones on various beaches, but the stones on Shobusawa Beach are very difficult.
Oh, is it going to end in failure again? Better than before, though.
The beach itself isn’t that big, so I walked around and checked and picked up any stones that caught my attention.
It was getting dark, so I decided to go home.
Goodbye Shobuzawa Beach. Goodbye cats.
Stones picked up from the sea | Shobuzawa Coast, Shizuoka Prefecture
Well, what about the stones I picked up this time? The largest stone is quartz. It’s pitted and filled with little crystal babies.
This is also what I will find out later, but there are a lot of agates on this beach. Or rather, full of agate.
Please search for quartz and agate on google. I don’t know the details either. It may be time to pick up the stone again someday and explain it in detail. may not come.
(→Various stones collected so far)
I felt like I was baptized after stepping into a sacred place for picking stones.
Good afternoon everyone.
Next time, get a book about stone-picking predecessors! Stone-picking starts at a certain spot.
