Picking up stones for the first time, the coast of Wakayama | Memories No. 1 |

A trip to pick up stones | Coast of Kushimoto, Wakayama Prefecture

August 9, 2015.

A few months after the designer E of the company showed off the stone (Omaezaki, Shizuoka Prefecture),
The first trip to pick up stones begins.
I didn’t have any destination in mind, but I always wanted to go (or take a ride) on the JR Kisei Main Line, which runs along the coast, to Kushimoto, the southernmost tip of the Kii Peninsula.
Basic trains. It takes about 5 hours with several transfers. die.
But the scenery is beautiful. Very beautiful. Diesel locomotives, not trains.
engine sound. whistle. An old whirlwind machine. Somehow I was quite satisfied even before I arrived at Kushimoto.
After a while, it started to look like the sea. Stone, stone! Sea stones!

I thought, but I still can’t see the coast. Nice scenery.

Oh, suddenly the sea is close. The sea is next to the railroad tracks. What do you do when the time comes? Stone, stone, it doesn’t seem to exist. I want to get off I want to jump off the train.

Somehow I arrived at Kushimoto. The sky was getting dark already.

Let’s talk about the delicious sushi made with freshly caught fish and the mysterious bill stuck in the hotel room where we stayed. After a good night’s sleep, the next morning, I finally headed to the beach to pick up stones.

Oh, the sea. Beautiful. It’s so beautiful. In such a sea, there are beautiful stones, stone, stone, stone, stone. “Eh, what about stones?”

No stone.

Beautiful.
But no stone.

No.
Beachcombing with family. smiling scenery.

and to another shore.
No stone.

It’s a beautiful sea, isn’t it?

There are no stones and I am hungry, so let’s eat lunch.

nice. It’s a relaxing atmosphere.
This shop is famous for its pickled tuna rice bowl.
Delicious delicious.

Stones picked up from the sea | Coast of Kushimoto, Wakayama Prefecture

ah.
This is the end of the first stone picking.
Huh? When you get home, you’ll have the stone. It is a such a fool.
Actually, I was able to pick up a few on the second beach. First stone GET.
But only small stones like beans.
(Later, it becomes one of the charms of stones.) This time, rather than picking up stones, I enjoyed the scenery from the diesel train and the train window.
On the way back, I headed for Osaka from Kushimoto and circled around the Kii Peninsula.
Riding too many trains is very tiring, and beginners who have no idea where the rocks lie on the beach should drive to find them.

good bye.

Next time, I will challenge the Shobuzawa coast in Shizuoka Prefecture, which is called the holy land of stones.
